Is your number up?
South Central Ambulance Service is asking you ‘Is Your Number Up’?
Is your house name or number clearly visible from the road day or night?
Now that the clocks have changed and it is getting darker earlier, the service is asking you to ensure that your house name or number is visible from the road by day and night. So that when you need us most we can find you quickly and easily.
When our ambulance resources are called to an address it is essential that we can find the address as quickly as possible. By ensuring that your house name and number is clearly visible from the road, we are able to do this. This is especially important during the winter months when it gets darker earlier.
Please ensure that we can see your house name or number from the road, make sure that there are no trees or bushes obstructing the sign and if possible having an outside light can prove especially handy especially when we are trying to find you during the hours of darkness.
Ian Ferguson, Director of Operations for the service said ‘It is essential that when the emergency services are called we can find the address as quickly and as easily as possible. We encourage all members of the public to ensure that their house name or number is as visible as possible at all times’.
So think, when you need us most, can we find you?
